You know, I have been reflecting on lately how you can go through all of the Christian activity and still be disconnected from God?
You truly can have His holy name on your lips and yet still have Him be far from your heart.
You can attend church
Read your bible
Pray
Be without sin outwardly
Truly love God
Minister to others
Even evangelize to others
Yet, in still, you, in the midst of all that, can find yourself disconnected from God.
I realized that although I was actively doing "Christian" things, as I was doing them, there was something missing.
The fire, intensity, the deep surrender, this feeling of getting lost in the Lord and going away with Him was no longer present.
I sat back and thought how I could get that back.
It couldn't be more activity because we understand this is just a matter of works, much of which I was already doing.
When your intention is not to seek and meet Jesus in this activity, it is unlikely that you will.
******but Jesus can do what He wants and show up in spite of*****
Why was I not seeking to meet with Jesus?
Why was I approaching it like a checklist?
Fear.
I knew I had drifted from my call, my assignment, discipleship.
Truth be told, I wanted to stay on the outskirts of my faith and relationship with Jesus.
I had enough of the demands, spiritual warfare, testing, trials, training, processing.
So, I remained on the edge and was left empty.
There is nothing like being in close relationship with Jesus- receiving fresh revelation, getting into His presence and feeling His glory, receiving His instruction and knowing your life is safely in His hands.
I began to long for this once again, but I still questioned how do I get back there?
This is what the Holy spirit showed me.
1) deep surrender- this is giving your life over afresh to the Lord. Laying your plans, your will, your desire and passions, even identity (who you believe you are) at the feet of Jesus to seek and make room for His plan, will, desires and passions and your identity in Him.
2) Embracing discipleship. Salvation is free. There is a cost for discipleship. Remind yourself of what the requirements of a disciple are ***I'll place below in the scripture section***. Ask yourself, is your truest hears intent still to be disciple of Christ? Recommit to it.
3) Diligently seek Him. Seek Him with intentionality, expectancy, earnestly. Be willing to allow time to simply bleed away. Linger in His presence. Truly value His presence, Him.
4) Obedience. Obedience is the key to alignment and right relationship with the Lord. To be outside of the will of God creates seperation between you and Him.
I am leaning into my relationship with the Lord because I do not want to do this life without Him. I do not want Christ to be an accessory but my Lord.
I want to be His again and belong to Him.
It's time to return to my first love.
Time to surrender.
Holy Spirit:
This is all that I want. It requires you to make a decision. First you must face the fact that something is not right instead of ignoring it. Then you must want to return and as you did and ask. I will show you the way back to step-by- step. I am here. I have always been here. Now I want you here with me and move forward in life together. So many people fail to realize when drifting occurs. They once burned on the cross, but now, there sitting a comfortable distance away. They are relived that they no longer feel fire, but this is where I am. This is where the work is getting done. Do not be afraid of the fire, Jennifer. The fire is where you learn, grow and become. You are too great to sit on the sidelines. Embrace the fire. Embrace Me.
Question of the day
Have you drifted from God?
Are you still paying the cost to be a disciple?
Are you still on fire for Jesus?
If not, sit with the Holy spirit. Ask Him to
reveal to how that happened,
give you the hunger, thirst, desire to return fully to Him,
give you practical steps to do so.

Scripture

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
Matthew 16:24-26
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
